BTW Firefox is now version 2.0.x. I do not have 1.0.7 to check and frankly would one really bother much if it works on older version. Way to older...

Yes, we have a problem that the transparent box doesn't work in older versions of browsers, and the text disappears. It works fine in newer ones, but the problem is many of our customers still have those older browsers. What is it exactly that isn't compliant, do you know?

I am not sure but to be honest now the new version of firefox gets downloaded and installed automatically so I do not see that problem continuing with your users if they use firefox.
