This compact has really tested my skills and I have learnt a lot while writing this about and css also. I have spent nearly full week trying to create this. Crazy isn't it looking at the size of it. I like it though, ofcourse till I want to create something else more funky.
This feedreader uses the current best feed parser, simplepie and more less everything is and javascript is using jquery and two plugins of jquery. Over all, the size has started effecting my code writing and it is nearly 10 kb of code (plus 20 kb of jquery if you are not already using jquery in your template). Compared to yui library, which is some 200-250kb, it is pretty decent. :)
Would you believe it, I spent one day, whole freaking one day just making IE render scrollbars nicely in it. It just killed me that day. IE is a nightmare guys and I just imagine how much fun it would be if IE just get extinct from internet for ever. There is no hope for IE. IE 7 was expected to learn from other browsers but it too is a disaster.
Anywyas few of the feature of this little : 1. Scrolling would stop on mouseover. 2. The width is fluid but height is not as I needed to give some absolute values to get scrolling appropriately in all brousers. 3. Every uses can have their own set of feeds stored on server (ofcourse my server) and they can access their feeds once they login. You can add or delete feeds on fly. All Ajax more of less fully ajax.
It is amazing to realize, as I am writing this, that what took me hrs and hrs is summarized in just few lines :). Anyways I would love to have your feedback on how you feel about this module.
